Colvin Endorsed by Fraternal Order of Police

Eric Colvin, Candidate for St. Mary’s County Commissioner for District 1, has been formally endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #7. The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers and they are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. FOP Lodge 7 was founded in April 1971 and represents law enforcement officers in St. Mary’s County.

“I am proud and humbled to receive the endorsement of the FOP as I run for office. I want to work with Sheriff Cameron and all of our law enforcement officers to ensure that we have safe communities and schools. As I said in one of the local forums, we must protect those who protect us, and I will strive to always be accountable to the men and women who are willing to serve.”

The endorsement process involved an interview and discussion of issues that directly impact St. Mary’s County, including traffic congestion, the opioid epidemic, and employee benefits.
